As with all Digital SLR's they aren't really cheap, actually quite expensive, but I still had some 'verlofdagen' left so I could get it a lot cheaper. I got the EOS 350D with the 18-55mm lens. When I got the box to my surpise it stated that I could get a free 256 Meg CF card for it. That's nice, but not really necessary as I already bought a 1G CF card before that. Just after 2 weeks of owning it I almost made 700 pictures (mostly of our cats running around the house).
After deciding that I wanted more telephoto range I scouted marktplaats and saw a Canon EF 90-300USM lens for sale. The Canon EF 90-300USM is not that great quality for a lens, but the price is also very cheap for this range. So I got this lens yesterday and I must say it's worth the little money you pay for it. It feels cheap and light, but does work just fine. Also after seeing why the previous owner selled it I know also know what will be my next lens purchase. The Sigma 50-500MM :)
My search history indicates that quite some people are searching for drivers for an EOS 350D on Linux. Well you only need gphoto to do this, Altough I only tested this once as I use my Apple with Mac OS X to get the pictures of my camera.
More Info, might come in the future, but now I don't feel like writing any more :)
